People think they know how relationships work all the time. I’m sure as soon as your family members found out you were single, they had all kinds of advice on what you could have done better or how to get a new person in your life. Everyone has some tips on getting back with an ex or how to get a new boyfriend or girlfriend.
The sad part is, most of the time these people aren’t on track. For instance, many people will advise you to make your ex jealous to get their attention and make them realize how much they miss you. This is partially correct.
Yes, it will get their attention and yes they might miss you, but then they will be mad at you again and think how much better off they are without you. Really it is about as effective as shooting yourself in the foot to win a marathon. Sure they both involve feet but one doesn’t help the other! If you really want your ex to take notice of you and then have the courage to talk with you, you have to make them miss and admire you at the same time.
